30 Mar My Favorite Instagram Accounts
If you’re like me, you’re obsessed with Instagram. I never thought I would be, but as soon as I created an account a few years ago, I was shocked at much time I was spending on it looking at other’s photos. Since then I’ve obviously found favorite accounts. Some are travel related, and some are purely fun to look at. If you’ve made it to this page, hopefully that means you think a little bit like me and might like what I also like on Insta-G. So here are my favorites. Try not to spend too much time looking through each of their feeds.
I actually found her first on youtube, but I’ve since started following her on instagram. I love her account because I obviously love seeing where she is, but also because she has a mix of more professional looking photography and more informal “behind the scenes” type photos. I feel like she’s a real person with the less fancy photos, but the more artsy, professional ones catch my eye and make me want to see what else she’s going to do.
Rad Girls Collective
I love this! This is a collective account, as you can probably see, and they feature photos that use their hashtag. I really like the collection of photos as they feature women doing amazing outdoor things. And they’re also really good quality! I love this because it just makes me want to go do things! I feel like I need to be more epic than sitting on my couch like I am when I’m browsing.
The Workspace Stylist
Ah! I’m obsessed with these. Now that I’m in one place more, I’m trying to create my space to be able to work and be more productive. It’s taken a while to get there, because I have a tendency to sit on the couch or leave the house completely to get work done. But I find that I’m not as productive on the couch (I mean the TV is really tempting) and when I leave the house, it still takes time to get places, and I usually spend more money on food or drinks at coffee shops than I need to. So I want to stay home and be more productive. Hence my never-ending search for finding my little workspace. While I’ll probably never have such a sleek and uncluttered workspace, I like looking at these photos for ideas on artwork, storage solutions, or just motivation to get in my own office, and just do things.
I’ve started really liking Veera Bianca’s posts. They are a mixture of motivational quotes (like the one on the top right), personal photos at home, and also travel photos. I just like the mixture of all of these things. I think it makes it feel really personal while also keeping a professional style- they’re not all selfies or thrown together.
I love this feed for the outdoors-y, comfy vibes that it gives me. These photos make me want to go out and do things, and also bring my camera to capture my own adventures. I love her editing style, it’s so cozy and rustic. I really wish I could pull off photos like this and might have to mimic her style on a few of my own, especially for my mountain/ snow photos. I just love it.
Now that I have a permanent place I’m looking for more ideas and inspiration on how to decorate. I’m not the most stylish, with clothes or home goods, so I really need all the help I can get. I just like looking at these photos to see what I like, see how they went about putting looks together, and maybe see where they bought certain items (I really like those chairs in the bottom left picture).
What can I say? I love these. Maybe it’s the organization of it, how everything seems to neat and perfectly placed and tidy. Maybe it’s the organized chaos some show. Or maybe I just really like looking at people’s things. I first fell in love with this kind of photography when I used to look at what people packed for trips or what camera equipment and electronics they take. I just thought they looked so clean (and I wanted to see what goodies they had). But now I’m obsessed with all of them. I love seeing them pop up in my feed between dogs and cats and scenery and selfies. It’s soothing I guess. (I’m probably weird- Steve doesn’t love these- he says they’re too perfect and too staged- I say they’re the best.)
Oh what I would give to live in a van and travel around! You’re probably thinking, “Didn’t you just say you were so happy to be buying a house? Well, yes, I’m still happy about that, but there’s something exciting about fitting all of your things in a van, finding amazing ways to store things and fit your whole life in there. It’s all with the added bonus of picking up and leaving whenever you want but not having to really pack (it’s all in the van). I doubt Steve and I will ever be full time van-lifers just because of his job, and I do enjoy having a house, but we’re definitely going to take an extended vacation in something like this. My dream is to buy a school bus and deck it out with the comfiest beds and couches and a small kitchen- typical, right? Well, anyway, until we have the time to buy our van or bus, I’m going to look through all of these amazing people’s photos .
I love these posts. I like really nice photos of really fresh looking food, and that’s what this is. There are a ton of accounts on Insta for food inspiration, but there’s something about this one that makes me happy. I think t’s because it’s all her photos and recipes, it’s not just a collaboration or a huge company trying to tell me what to eat, and it’s simple.
Good Life Explorers
Again! I love these edits! They’re so clean and fresh looking, the photos are of amazing places where I want to go, right now. Most of them don’t have human subjects, which normally I don’t like, but I think because they’re interesting, not just the typical shot of scenery they’re still interesting to me.
I really love the style of these photos. While most of the time any people featured in the photos are facing away, or showing a body part other than the face, it makes it feel a little mysterious. I like that she features both people and landscapes and I think the editing is really well done.
Aspen the Mountain Pup
If you haven’t seen this adventure dog already you will instantly fall in love. He’s the most gorgeous, regal, majestic creature on the planet. I love his photos and I want a Golden Retriever so I can take photos like this. Not only is he gorgeous, the camera and editing skills of his owners are amazing. I need to take lessons from them.
And while I don’t really belong on this list, because these guys are amazing, you didn’t think I could write a whole instagram post without plugging myself, did you?
Well, here I am.
I’m trying to share a mixture of all of my favorite things on this account. I want the photos to look really clean and crisp and well done, but I want them to have personality without just being a nice scenic shot. And beyond just travel photos of the places I go, I want to share bits of my life, like that top middle one. That was a few minutes after I got married. And that bottom middle one, I just climbed Kili and one of my guides snapped the photo. I especially love the bottom left picture. Steve is probably my favorite person to photograph. You can look at his Insta too.
Who else is out there on the internet that I should follow? Let me know who they are and why you like them.
