At Home

Am I the only one who loves seeing people’s daily routines? Hopefully not, because I’ve made my own A Day in the Life for everyone to enjoy. I found that writing this was a really interesting look at my own day and definitely made me see where I could improve and what ways I could be more productive. I read over some other posts like this from Happy Healthy Mama, Blair Blogs, Gimme Some Oven, and The Balanced Life for inspiration. Take a look at their posts for...

Travel apps are a great way to ease the stresses of travel. I've chosen a few of my favorites that I love to use while I'm on the road, and sometimes at home to make life easier. Most of these are free, so they're easy on your wallet. If you're like me and you're attached to your phone, you probably have your own favorite apps. You've probably heard of a few of these, but hopefully I can give you a few new ones to add...

Here's a look at my week of eating. I have eaten these meals many times both during and before pregnancy and I’m sure I’ll continue to eat them after--if I’m not completely sick of them. The only difference in this “pregnancy” week of eating is that I leave out some of my favorite standards like runny eggs (an over easy egg on smashed avocado and toast sounds amazing right now), smoked salmon, soft cheeses, caffeine, and a few other things that aren’t particularly great for a fetus....

Working from home as so many benefits. I can work when (for the most part) and how I want (for the most part).  I can choose to wear pajamas, sit outside with a cat on my lap, take a long lunch, take a nap… whatever. I love that I don’t have to ask someone for the day off, or to leave early on Friday. I don’t have to work around anyone else’s schedule. Except for in a few months when I have this baby—but we’ll talk about that another...

I never spend a lot of time at home. Since I graduated high school I left Buffalo, NY to be in Pennsylvania . Then I moved to Maryland. All that time I was traveling for long periods. And while I missed home, I was close enough to go home for the weekend, or I always made it home between months abroad. I then moved to New Mexico, before finally settling in Texas where Steve and I will be for a few years.I’m home right now, visiting family, attending a...

I never thought I'd write about my pregnancy workout yet here I am. I love going online and seeing what other women are doing to keep in shape, stay healthy, and just keep living their lives while pregnant. Why not add to the long list of workouts online with one of my own?...

Every year I try to read 52 books- one for each week. I've been slacking lately, but now that I'm officially out of school, have more free time for my own reading, I thought I'd start back up with my reading list and share it with you guys. Here's my 2017 Book List. I'll keep adding to it as new books come out or as I find great books I'd like to read this year, so check back to see what I've been reading and what I'm adding...

It's extremely difficult to create a writing routine, especially these days. Not only do we have day jobs, families, bills, and responsibilities of all kinds, we also have more technology than ever before, tempting us with an infinite amount of information, and useless distractions, at our fingertips. To be a successful writer now means to push back against everything that comes first in our lives and to fight every day for the time and space to put words on a page. And even though it is a fight,...
