When I was putting together my baby registry it was really important for me to find a stroller that wouldn’t be huge and clunky. Not only did I not want to have a huge stroller to lug around day-to-day, but I didn’t want something that would be impossible to travel with. I knew that travel with [...]
Andrew is still young and we definitely have a lot more to learn about travel with him as he grows, we have been on plenty of flights and I’ve already made plenty of mistakes. The good thing about making those mistakes is that I have now learned from them and can pass on some knowledge [...]
A family holiday is perhaps an ambitious feat, especially when it’s your first time. There’s a whole new level of preparation to undertake, as well as potential for stress and conflict between you all. Don’t let it be that way. Ensure you’ve got these 5 must-haves for a family holiday in order to make it [...]
I’m a big advocate for self care. I think it’s essential for being your best self and staying physically and mentally healthy. In case you don’t know what self- care is, PsychCentral says it’s “any activity that we do deliberately in order to take care of our mental, emotional, and physical health.” They go on to say “Good self-care is key to improved mood and reduced anxiety. It’s also key to a good relationship with oneself and others.” Self care is something that refuels us. It should be something we enjoy doing and get pleasure from.
Take a look at the list I’ve put together of things I’ve done here, and a few I have yet to do (but have heard many times they are a must). For more up-to-date info on events in town, check out Choose Wichita Falls, a great resource for finding things to do and keeping yourself from being bored.
Travel apps are a great way to ease the stresses of travel. I've chosen a few of my favorites that I love to use while I'm on the road, and sometimes at home to make life easier. Most of these are free, so they're easy on your wallet. If you're like me and you're attached to your phone, you probably have your own favorite apps. You've probably heard of a few of these, but hopefully I can give you a few new ones to add to your ever over-full iCloud storage.
Pregnancy isn't an excuse to stop traveling. Whether you're going on an exciting adventure, baby moon, or just visiting family, there's no reason you can't fly. While it might not be the most comfortable thing to do while pregnant, it's safe and definitely better than sitting in a car or putting your life on hold [...]
In January Steve and I took a road trip from Texas to New York to visit family. We left Texas early in the morning and over 20 hours later, made it to the town we grew up in. It was quite a drive while I was in the 3rd Trimester and we had our dog [...]
In September 2015 I climbed Kilimanjaro. I'm finally getting around to writing about it, but it was one of the most fulfilling things I’ve ever done. I'll write a longer post about my actual experience, but right now, I want to talk about my Kilimanjaro Packing List and what I think was essential for my [...]
The Four Corners, if you don’t already know, is the meeting of four states: Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and New Mexico, and it’s the only place in the U.S. like it. It’s located on Navajo land and out in the middle of nowhere. Steve and I visited during our Southwest road trip when he was living [...]
